We suffer enough throughout the work week, so it is really anexcellent concept when the weekend arrives to have a romantic break with our loved one. It doesn’t need to last the whole weekend, although that’s a bonus if you are both able to create the time. Nor does it need to cost a fortune, although several small treats are always an excellent idea.

So, whenever you think of romance, what do you come up with? Dinners out are usually excellent, but should you have the time, preparing a special menu with your loved one, then going to the local market for the fresh food before spending the time together cooking in the kitchen may be much more romantic and fun than you think. Just investing the time paying attention to something other than work can be a great feeling, and being able to talk about what vegetables to buy can be a tension reducer! Your romantic break  can be anything that you choose, so you can spend it however you like!

Now, if you are creating dinner at residence, you can make it more intimate by using candles, and quiet romantic background music. Needless to say, you can make your meal after which pack it as much as consume out on a picnic, if the weather is great for that, of course. And you can play some music that you both enjoy, rather than having the local news on the television, or the latest sports game.

Which brings up another point in planning a weekend of romance . The romantic weekend time is the opportunity to spend quality time together, and this is harder to do if cell phones are ringing or work is contacting you. Unless you both need to discuss work, you might limit conversation to exclude talk of work. Romantic weekend getaways are not really the moment to be discussing the latest proposal for work!

Playing the tourist in your own town works well as well. You will probably find that your city has evolved a lot in just a year or two, and a stroll around the nearby parks or museums can be very relaxing. Or you could visit the local visitor attractions, or the local ice rink – there are plenty of choices. Or you can look at the models of the residences around you. Not many people take the time to perform this, we grow to be so focused on work that we have no idea what is about us. So, try a wander or two in your neighbourhood, and see what there is close to you that you haven’t seen before. You may discover that you have walked by something every day without really seeing it. And your walks don’t have to be in good weather conditions. You can experience a rainy day for a change as well, provided you are outfitted sensibly.
